NICW newsletter – Winter 2026

Meetings and events

  • Between mid October and mid February we saw a range of organisations including Welsh Government, the Design Commission for Wales and the Future Generations Commissioner. See the complete list here.
  • We were busy with media; podcast appearances related to our Nature Guardian work came from as far afield as New Zealand, and David Clubb and Eurgain Powell both gave interviews about flooding in Wales
  • We launched our Nature Guardian report at an event in the Pierhead Building in Cardiff Bay, giving feedback on how the experiment had worked for us, and encouraging others to consider this new approach to governance

Correspondence

You can see all our correspondence here. We wrote to Welsh Government about the Part L review, and about renewable energy.

Coming up

Over the coming months, keep your eyes peeled for:

  • A blog post describing the Nature Guardian event
  • Our symposium for infrastructure in Wales – looking ahead at what Wales will need in the decades to come, and presenting the findings of our snapshots of five infrastructure sectors in Wales.

Blog posts

Reflections on NICW

We had a day out to reflect on our work over the last three years. What did we learn?
