Dear Cabinet Secretary,
We would like to offer our congratulations on your appointment as Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Welsh Language. Our work likely has relevance for policy areas within your remit, and we are pleased to offer the opportunity for the Commission to provide independent expert advice to take forward the Programme for Government in a number of areas.
You can read our opinion on a number of relevant topics at The National Infrastructure Commission for Wales. We are currently working on our recommendations to reduce the impact of flooding in Wales by 2050, which we aim to publish in October.
You may be aware that we published our recommendations for renewable energy in Wales in October 2023. We would like to take the opportunity to remind you that we still have not received any formal response to the recommendations we made in the report. We understand that you will doubtless be busy in the amended brief but would appreciate an indication of when you intend to provide the formal Welsh Government response.
Finally, we would like to offer you a briefing on behalf of the Commission on any issues that may be of particular relevance to your mandate in the coming years.
Your sincerely,
Dr David Clubb Cadeirydd/Chair | Dr Jenifer Baxter Dirprwy Gadeirydd/Deputy Chair |
